Apply to Adopt a Career-Changed Dog

Adopt a dog who’s been released from our service and hearing dog program.

The Process

Occasionally, Circle Tail decides that a dog is not suitable to complete the service/hearing dog training program. This can be due to many factors including, but not limited to: medical reasons such as allergies or hip dysplasia or behavioral/temperamental problems not suitable for an assistance dog. Even though the dogs are changing careers, they can still be wonderful pets and companions.

All Circle Tail career changed dogs are spayed or neutered. Each dog has received age appropriate vaccines and is microchipped. In addition, each Circle Tail dog over 6 months old is on heartworm preventative medicine. The adoption fee for a career changed dog will range depending on his/her age and training.

A CAREER CHANGED DOG CANNOT BE USED AS A WORKING SERVICE DOG AND MAY BE INAPPROPRIATE FOR OTHER TYPES OF WORK SUCH AS THERAPY OR SOCIAL SUPPORT. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR AN IN-HOME SERVICE OR HEARING DOG, CLICK HERE. IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR A FACILITY DOG, CLICK HERE.
