Lindsay and Prim have been a team ever since we were partnered in 2020. She was the best Christmas gift I could have asked for. We’ve had so many wonderful adventures since then! Prim has become a huge part of my life. Every day she wakes me up to the sound of my alarm, goes with me to work, watches me as I swim laps at the YMCA, has play time at home with her toys (especially throwing her tennis ball), eating her kibble and green beans(we can’t forget the food), bringing me my medications and of course having time for snuggles at the end of the day. But that’s not all! Most importantly she’s always there for me on my roughest days. She knows to follow and stay close by, brings me my medication bag, goes, and gets help, lays with me during my weekly infusions, picks things up for me, opens doors, takes naps with me when I don’t feel well and has even alerted to some of my seizures due to our growing connection. Not only does she help me, but she helps other people too.

Prim and I have now worked at Solutions Community Counseling for a year and a half. I am a group therapy specialist and a case manager for our clients with mental illness. Prim is the first service dog to be “employed” at Solutions. Everyday Prim brings a smile to both clients and employee’s faces. Everyone has a better day after seeing Prim in the office, especially my clients. The minute my clients come in for appointments Prim makes them smile and gives them strength to openly talk about their problems. Prim and I enjoy participating in employee spirit activities like the Halloween costume contest, wearing college jerseys and Christmas decorating contest. Prim and I had stockings of our very own hung at work on the fireplace. One of the employees put a Christmas headband on her and took a picture of her that made it onto the front page of Solutions company website. She was so good this year that clients and employees brought her bananas and carrots as her Christmas gifts. Prim’s the star of the show and I couldn’t be more proud to call her my service dog.
