Development Coordinator


Do you want to make a difference in the lives of assistance dogs and people with disabilities? Circle Tail is an accredited nonprofit organization that provides service and hearing dogs for people with disabilities at no charge to the individual.

We are seeking an energetic and dedicated part-time Development Coordinator, approximately 20 - 25 hours per week, to help us help dogs who will go on to help a person with a disability.

Reporting to the Executive Director (ED), the Development Coordinator will have overall strategic and operational responsibility for Circle Tail’s fundraising, donor relationship cultivation, brand marketing, and community engagement. S/he will develop deep knowledge of field, core programs, operations, and business plans.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate passion and energy in Circle Tail’s mission and purpose, acting as the key identity and representation for the organization.
  • Improve quality of administration, fundraising, and communications.
  • Actively engage and energize Circle Tail’s volunteers, board members, event committees, alumni, partnering organizations, and funders.
  • Create and execute a strategy for a large sustained base of donors (individuals, foundations and corporations) using a variety of marketing techniques and social media.
  • Maintain trust and relationships between Circle Tail and its donors. Grow the flow of contributions and oversees how contributions are received and utilized.
  • Put community engagement at the forefront, increase awareness of Circle Tail within the community.
  • Be an advocate to build upon Circle Tail’s reputation of excellence in order to grow partnerships and identify and execute on funding and growth opportunities.
  • Build and expand partnerships, establishing long term relationships with funders and community leaders to increase funding and donor retention.
  • Expand local revenue generating and fundraising activities to support existing program operations and regional expansion while preserving financial health.
  • Deepen and refine all aspects of communications—from web presence and social media, to external relations with the goal of creating a stronger brand.
  • Use external presence and relationships to garner new opportunities.
  • Seek grant opportunities and lead grant committee
  • Chair major and minor fundraising events

Qualifications

The Development Coordinator will be thoroughly committed to Circle Tail’s mission. Candidates should have proven leadership, fundraising, and relationship management experience. Specific requirements include:

  • Bachelor degree or similar, ideally in leadership, management or communications with at least 2 years of fundraising experience; ability to point to specific examples of having developed and operationalized strategies that have taken an organization to the next stage of growth.
  • Excellent people management skills.
  • Strong marketing, public relations, and fundraising experience with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; a persuasive and passionate communicator with excellent interpersonal and multidisciplinary project skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in collaboration with diverse groups of people.
  • Passion, idealism, integrity, positive attitude, mission-driven, and self-directed.
  • Ability to dedicate 20-25 hours per week to the mission, with potential for salary and hour increase as goals are achieved.
