We fostered Bathilda from Circle Tail in January 2010, soon after she was rescued from a kennel in Indiana and had a litter of cute puppies at Circle Tail.  Marlys called to see if she could stay with us, as the big dogs were running roughshod over her.  We fostered her and she got along really well with our golden, Rookie.  An adoption for Bathilda fell through and we decided that was a sign that Bathilda was meant to be with us.  She fit right into our home and lifestyle.  Rookie loved her, the kids loved her, and we loved her!  She was quite shy and timid, but loved belly rubs and being pet and doted on.

As time went on her little personality opened up more and more.  She greeted everyone who came to the door with a friendly tail wag and a desire to receive pets on the head!  She even developed a little happy howl to demand her share of attention!  When Rookie passed away, Bathilda and I weathered the grief together, and then we got another golden, Kena.  Bathilda was instant friends with her!  Bathilda loved walks and outings and, after Kena passed away, became quite the little traveler accompanying us to Savannah, St. Augustine, Charleston, Va., Lakes Michigan and Erie, and many other places.  She was a quirky, fun little girl and lived life her way!  I will miss her little howl, her exuberance, and her zest for life!  I am so glad she came into our life and I hope I see her smiling little face when my time is up!  Rest in peace little girl.  Love always.
